Measuring Hubs

Shimano specifies hub flange offsets from the dropout face to the outside of the flange. Some calculations specify the center of the flange. Some specify the inside of the flange. This will change your results.

• Mavic 819 Disc ERD - 532mm (Official), 518.5g. with special nipple nipples.
  • Use 534mm or 533 erd in practice.

• Velocity USA 650B Blunt rims - ISO 44-584. 32 hole. 562 ERD. Claimed weight 459g. Actual weight 464.8g.

• Salsa Delgato 29er Rims - ERD 604

• Alex DA28 - ERD 584.8, 480g. (Quality lists ERD as 587mm, but 585mm in fact builds better)

• DT Swiss RR1.1 - 700c, ERD 596mm, 415g. TechSpec

Quality lists ERD as 597, DT lists ERD as 599. I belive it's really 596mm.
